Location history is some of the most personal data there is. MapScore was built so it never has to leave your phone: there is no MapScore account and no MapScore server.
When Google moved Timeline off the web, many people lost years of location history. Cloud timelines get shut down, mined for ads or quietly switched off. MapScore keeps your timeline on the phone in your pocket, in formats you can take anywhere.

Yes. MapScore builds a timeline of your trips and stops automatically, like Google Maps Timeline did, but it keeps everything in an encrypted database on your phone instead of in an account. It also adds a Lifetime Map, ExplorerScore and export to GPX, GeoJSON and CSV.
No. Your routes, stops, places and statistics stay on your phone. MapScore has no account and no server to send them to. If you turn on Google Maps street maps, Google receives the map area you are viewing. If you turn on automatic address names, the coordinate of a confirmed stop may be sent to your phone’s geocoding service. Both are optional.
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Purchases are handled by Google Play.
MapScore uses precise GPS only while you are moving. When you stay in one place it switches GPS off and uses Android’s low-power location checks to confirm you are still there. Battery use depends on your phone and how much you move.
MapScore records a route only from precise fixes. When the signal is weak it leaves a gap rather than drawing a guess, so what you see is what really happened.
Yes. Export raw points as GPX, GeoJSON or CSV at any time, or create an encrypted backup protected by your own password to move your full history to a new phone.
Open Settings, then Data & privacy, and erase your history. Uninstalling MapScore also removes everything stored by the app on that phone.
MapScore starts with a free trial, then continues as a subscription through Google Play. Current prices for your country are shown on the Google Play listing. You can cancel at any time in Google Play.
MapScore runs on Android 7.0 and newer with Google Play. There is no iPhone version yet.
